Do you sometimes have days where nothing goes to plan?
Not in a bad way.
Just in a chaotic way where things head off on their own little tangent.
I'm sure the time-management gurus would say days like this are all of my own making.
That I should not allow myself to be distracted, stick to my to-do list, or my Pomodoro timer, and motor through the day efficiently and in control.
They're probably right.
But I did allow myself to get distracted - and my to-do list remains to do.
I promise I was working - its just that a little job led to another little job, which turned into a bigger job, and then that led to something else, and then I noticed something else, which became another job, and on it went.
It's mae's fault. If a giant box of their gorgeous fabric stickers hadn't arrived this morning the day could have been more focused. They are altogether distracting, especially with their detail and imagery. New dress up dolls. New photo sticky up things, message tiles - and that's just looking at them on screen at the office, tomorrow I get to play instore with them!
I love this mini mae Tea Time design. I have it stuck on my laptop.
And speaking of tea - I think it is indeed time...

Oh heck Amanda.....what does it matter that things didn't quite go to plan ! A little distraction and a chance to go 'off piste ' is good for the soul !!!! That's my opinion and that's probably why I never get anything done !!!! haha. That tea-time design is so pretty....just wait 'till you see them in the flesh so to speak !!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your lovely comment about the riots. It is so sad to see people's businesses, homes and belongings get destroyed. I am just watching the Prime Minister talking in Parliament on television. I'm so pleased to hear that he will help them all restore their livlihood and homes and also punish those responsible. I just hope that it will all calm down now. XXXX
The similar tea-set you so kindly sent us here has survived several rearrangings and is just as charming as when it was new. No wonder you got distracted.
ReplyDeletehiya lovely A...
ReplyDeleteoh god do i know those days!!
and i think yehar- embrace them...you would be so bored just ticking off that ol list and not playing with all those goodies that come into your shop!
i seriously gotta get myself over to you and just sit with a pot of tea and play for the day...i'll even bring dinner for the renovators!

Playtime is the best time. I've been playing all day in my garden, and now Vin wants me to come and play Mothers & Fathers, ummmm let me be more specific, I mean as in "Whats for dinner, d'you want a glass of wine, and shall we skype the kids? Your to-do list will still be there for another day, relax and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteas a project manager i'd say i'm a time guru type of person, but i regularly have days that go AWOL due to the unexpected.
