I know that escaping to the beach and the bach in summer is almost impossible to beat.
But it is also a pretty special place in autumn.
For a start, it's so quiet.
There isn't the constant hum of summer.
Everything is more contemplative.
Lots of long walks, and plenty of exploring.
A swim one day and gumboots the next.
I was trying to capture the perfect image of this golden tree - all fiery autumn colours, and alone amongst a sea of evergreen, it looked amazing.
A perfect weekend if you've been having a few of those 'can't see the woods for the trees' moments!
Hope you all had a lovely long weekend too. And hello to some new followers.
It's lovely to see you here.

'Bach' ...I haven't heard that word in a long time!
ReplyDeleteIt takes me back to 1990 when I last visited NZ (aged 15!) and went to my Auntie and Uncles Bach in Riversdale (South East coast of the North Island). What an amazing place that was! I remember clearly walking along an empty beach as the sun went down eating fresh pineapple. Ooh..Wish I was there now!!

Oh what a lovely time you must have had. Autumn is such a special time, a great time for restful contemplation,(she says wistfully, after a morning cleaning floors).Happy week. x
ReplyDeleteI agree ~ in fact I like the beach best in autumn, winter and spring! Too many people there in summer, and there is a wonderful quality of light in the cooler months.
ReplyDeleteYour images are magic.
OOooo...lovely images. Lovely post.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like just what you need as an antidote to the disruption of home life just now. The photos are beautiful.
